Beef and French Onion Soup in Instant Pot Recipes
Jump to Recipe
French onion soup always seemed like a delicacy when I was growing up. I had only seen it at those nice restaurants we would go to on Sundays, once in a blue moon. Those were treat days in our family.
My mother would always order a bowl of French onion Soup. Honestly, it never looked like anything special, but I knew it had to be. Mom never made that at home and she was an excellent cook.
Now that I am an adult with kids of my own, and doing what I do with this blog, I have learned that making French Onion soup is not as difficult as I once thought it was.
Although before there was an Instant Pot in my kitchen, I did spend a long time in the kitchen making it so that it came out perfect. That is not needed now.
Frequently Asked Questions:
French Onion Soup is normally served in mini crock bowls or bread bowls, why?
Serving in the bread bowls makes cleaning up a whole lot easier huh? I am sure that the bread bowls are so that bits of bread can be dipped into the soup and eaten with the soup. The mini crockery bowls are absolutely adorable and hold up to high heat, such as a broiler or salamander(basically the same as a broiler) so that restaurants can melt and lightly brown the cheese on top of the soup.
How long can I store this?
As long as it has been cooled completely, then placed into an airtight container, it is good to sit in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
If I serve with bread, what is the best?
I always use a loaf of baguette bread. It is crispy outside and soft inside. In my opinion, it is perfect for french onion soup.
